XL Airways great success in the Zero-C Competition '09 in which various European Airlines took up the challenge to create Zero Carbon Emmission flights (by offsetting of course). XL Airways proudly won the challenge by donating £68,000 which payed for approximately 34,000 trees. The number of trees planted is calculated to offset a full months worth of flights on one of the companys Boeing 737-800's (G-XLAL). XL Airways also gave the aircraft a bright new colour scheme to show how 'green' the aircraft really was.

Here are some pictures of G-XLAL during the month;

And to celebrate such a great livery and a great contribution to fighting climate change we at XL Virtual have repainted our very own G-XLAL in the 'eco livery';

If the Zero-C Competition is run in '10 XL Virtual is sure to take part and hopefully can raise more money to offset carbon emmisions.
